Job Title: Summer IT Internship

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Summer Intern to assist with IT-related museum projects. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, detail-oriented, self-driven and ready to contribute to meaningful projects to support the mission of the Hellenic Heritage Museum of Maryland, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create transcripts of oral history videos using transcription software, followed by watching the video to correct any mistakes in the transcription.
- Update and enhance the museum website.
- Collaborate on other technology-related projects that may arise during the term of the internship.
- Send a weekly email with hours worked, work accomplished, and plans for the coming week.
- Attend virtual meetings with the IT team as required, with one initial in-person meeting at the museum offices in Baltimore Maryland.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s program in a relevant field, e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Museum Studies, Art History, Library Sciences, History, English.
- Proficiency with one or more of the following: Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet.
- Previous experience building or modifying websites.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using WordPress or similar website builder tools. Experience with Wufoo form builder.
- Proficiency with Macintosh computers.
- Knowledge of Modern Greek, which may be useful in correcting transcriptions.
